I've spent 15 years on the other side of your job search.
I've reviewed more resumes than I can count, sat across from hiring managers in oil & gas boardrooms and tech startup offices, and placed everyone from first-time managers to C-suite executives. I know exactly how the hiring process works — and exactly where most candidates lose their shot at the role.
That's why I started Aligned Careers.
I built my career in staffing and recruiting, working across some of the most demanding industries in the country — oil & gas, IT, sales, and executive search. Over 15 years, I partnered with companies to find the right people for the right roles, which meant I spent an enormous amount of time understanding what makes a candidate stand out, what makes a hiring manager say yes, and what quietly disqualifies someone before they ever get to the interview.
What I kept seeing, over and over, was talented professionals who were being overlooked — not because they weren't qualified, but because they didn't know how to present themselves in a way that translated to the people making decisions. Their resumes didn't reflect the scope of what they'd accomplished. Their LinkedIn profiles were invisible to the recruiters who could have been calling them. They were showing up to interviews underprepared for the specific questions that trip candidates up at the final stage.
I started having those "off the record" conversations — giving people the honest recruiter perspective they couldn't get anywhere else. And the results were remarkable. People who had been stuck for months started landing interviews. Executives who were uncertain about their next move found their direction and walked into conversations with confidence.
Aligned Careers is the formalized version of those conversations. It's career coaching grounded in how hiring actually works — not how people assume it works.
